The Career Of Nicolai “Dev1ce” Reedtz
Nicolai was performing exceptionally in badminton when a top sports club in the city tried to recruit him. But somehow he grew closer into loving CS. In 2011, he was recognized as one of the top talents in the country and was offered to play for one of the best teams of the region, Copenhagen Wolves. His passion for video games grew by the day and he was to chose one thing to focus on; either badminton or Counter Strike. He finally made up his mind to focus on what he was best at and decided to turn down offers he got from badminton clubs. He shortly went onto showing his talents on some main stages in Europe, alongside great other players in the scene. The Wolves failed to keep the players' contracts updated and the roster had to drop out of it to play as Uber G33kz. Uber was instantly recognized as one of Denmark’s top talents and was picked up by Dignitas before long.
He was performing really well by this time and even went on to be featured on HLTV’s top 20 players of 2014. Later on, seeing the performance of Dev1ce and Dignitas as a team, Team Solo Mid decided to pick up the team for their CS roster. With TSM, Dev1ce showed his dominance in the game by showing the world the progress of his team by winning some main titles. TSM soon became one of the top teams in the competitive scene. This was mainly because of Dev1ce’s raw talent, where he even went on to become the single most consistently dominant CS:GO player in the scene. Even though TSM was dominating most of the competition at the time, they weren’t able to qualify for the finals in any majors. The talk of the town became TSM’s inability to close-out a tournament became a hot topic among the CS community. With this happening for several seasons, the only option TSM had was to drop their CS roster.
Then the former TSM roster including Dev1ce came up with their own organization called Astralis, fulfilling their life long dream. The labeling of “semifinal curse” soon came back with Astralis performing poorly during semifinals of majors. Finally, with some roster changes and a psychologist on their team, the performances of Astralis began to increase dramatically lifting all the curses they had. Dev1ce and his newly found team went on to win their first major in 2017. After some outstanding performances in the coming months, they never got near to winning the next major. But Astralis came back stronger the next major to win 3 majors in a row.
