Russel "Twistzz" Van Dulken is a professional Counter-Strike: Global Offensive player coming from Canada. He is currently a part of the North American super-team, Team Liquid, and keeps dominating the NA competitive CS scene being an eye-catching player. He is loved by his fans as he wasn’t always the successful athlete he is today. He is a perfect example of a successful player who rose up from the dirt and he is currently worth over half a million dollars. He is also one of the youngest players to play professionally and he still has a long and bright career ahead of him.
Russel David Van Dulken was born on November 14, 1999, in Kelowna, British Columbia, Canada. He has a special bond with gaming in his life as he first started playing games with his dad at a very young age. His first FPS game was the classic, Quake. He would watch his dad play games and even play with him so Russel has more sentimental value for gaming than anyone in the industry. When his dad moved away and his mom moved in with her boyfriend, Russel started playing Counter-Strike: Global Offensive. When his mom’s boyfriend started verbally abusing him, his progress in CS:GO hindered and his mom decided to leave him which made Russel progress in CS:GO once again. His mom was always very supportive of his passion for CS:GO and gaming and this ultimately lead to the creation of a legendary player.
The Career Of Russel "Twistzz" Van Dulken
His longer sessions of CS:GO resulted in him being recognized in the local CS:GO scene and was regarded as a prodigy. He first joined Tectonic to start off his professional career in October 2015 and made his debut in ESL Pro League with Team AGG in early 2016. This made him the first professional player to be born after the creation of the first released version of Counter-Strike (released on the 19th of June in 1999). In March 2016 his big break happened when he was picked up by a leading team in the scene, Team Solo Mid. His run in TSM wasn’t groundbreaking as he spent most of his time practicing to fit the whole new level of competitiveness which was ahead of him.
He then joined Team Misfits and then later one of the more recognized and dominant teams, Team Liquid. It was his dream come true as Team Liquid was building up quite a reputation for dominating the North American CS:GO scene at the time. When s1mple left the team, TL was also eager to pick up the next upcoming young talent who actually managed to fill out the space left by the king himself. TL now had the potential to become a force to be reckoned with and they actually were during early times. Twistzz was performing really well in the team but the team couldn’t return the favor to be consistent on their performance, making them lose the chance at being one of the top teams of the world. Twistzz was one of the most underrated players at this point. Twistzz was only getting better by the time and TL had to replace some of his players to bring out the best of Twistzz.
