Legends of Runeterra

Legends of Runeterra is the multiplayer FTP video game made by Riot Games, based on the League of Legends universe. A new card game released as an open beta in January and officially released on the 29th April of this year.

The game Legends of Runeterra has a simple base, but it requires a lot of knowledge, experience and the ability to make decisions quickly.

Legends of Runeterra Gameplay

Legends of Runeterra is a card game in which you have to fight with other opponents in the same way as classic games such as Hearthstone or Magic the Gathering offers.

In general, the gameplay of Legends of Runeterra cannot be called complicated. Those familiar with Magic: The Gathering will find it simple, those who play Hearthstone - not much more complicated than their favorite CCI. Plus, there is a fairly intuitive interface and good training fights, including those with advanced skills.

As you can imagine, novice players will play simple games, as they have more base cards and less experience in everything related to strategies, card combinations, and even regions to improve skills. Thus, after many games and other strategies, you can advance to a more complex game. Although, if you already have experience in games of this type, you will probably be easier.

What is clear is that Riot seems to combine both sentences very well. What is added to the universe in which it is based will certainly help you attract many new players after the official launch of the game. I am sure that for League of Legends fans this will be a good offer and an alternative to the root game.

Legends of Runeterra Champions

Now about the champions. These are cards representing the LoL heroes and being original commanders of the armies of their regions. As a rule, decks are built around some champions and their skills, but this is not necessary. I saw strong enough decks in which there were no hero cards. A distinctive feature of champions is that, unlike ordinary units, they can change during the game, increasing their level and gain new skills. There are only two levels here - basic and advanced, as in standard MOBA, but in general, the process of raising the level of heroes should reflect the gameplay in MOBA.

Legends of Runeterra Deck

  • Shadow Nexus Aggro - This deck is currently very popular in Legends of Runeterra, and this extremely aggressive deck is a good counter. Shadow Nexus was created to hit hard and fast, quickly controlling the board and not allowing slower decks to gain a foothold on it. This deck was also tested and verified and became the first deck to receive the title of Master.
  • Fiora barrier - A little different from other top decks, Fiora Barrier is a mid-game deck designed to counter powerful amplification - Elusive. Elusive opponents can usually only be blocked by other cards with the same keyword. However, Fiora’s key strength “Challenger” allows you to choose which enemy is blocking her, including elusive enemies. The reward for raising Fiora’s level also helps to resist elusive decks. Because if they go too hard on weak attacks, Fiora can just kill them and end the game herself.
  • Yasuo Stun / Recall / Repeat - The Legends of Runeterra are still being developed control decks. But if you want to try out a deck, that knows how to stop and infuriate opponents. It is necessary to play a deck Yasuo Stun / Recall / Repeat. A weak game at the beginning, but an incredibly powerful game at the end. Most of the survival at the beginning and in the middle of the game focuses on stunning enemies and getting positive effects from them, becoming stronger as your opponent cannot act.
  • Ephemeral midrange - The popular Ephemeral Midrange deck is designed to defeat your opponent with just numbers. In this deck, you play a bunch of weaker minions and attack the Nexus, against large and fast attacks. Hecarim also plays with the temporary archetype, reinforcing them, so he is the perfect champion for this deck.

Legends of Runeterra Graphics

The visual part of the game deserves special praise. Animations of LoR heroes, their art, various replicas depending on the situation, all this creates a lively atmosphere while playing LoR. Separately, it is worth noting the very cool work on the card art, which for the most part was performed by one author, all of them are detailed at the highest level and cause only warm emotions.

Legends of Runeterra Requirements

Legends of Runeterra will be available for both PC and mobile devices. In the case of computers, the minimum requirements you will need are the following:

  • PC with Windows 7 or higher
  • 4 GB RAM
  • Video card with 512 MB VRAM or higher

Despite the fact that the game is loaded with animation, as you can see, the requirements are nothing to write about. Thus, you can play on almost any computer. The only drawback is that there is no client for macOS for now. This is a point of view against a large number of users who may be interested and will remain without a game if they do not install Boot Camp or emulate Windows on macOS.

As for mobile platforms, there is for both. Both iOS and Android will be playable. Of course, this requires system versions higher than iOS 9 or Android 5.0 and 64-bit ARM processors for Apple devices and Adreno 306 or higher for Android devices.

Legends of Runeterra Conclusions

I will never tire of saying it. A game that is Play-to-Win and not Pay-to-win should be played at least once. Of course, luck in drawing the right card at the right time is always one of the discriminants in this genre of games, as the dice roll is for Risiko games! But it is, in any case, something that is taken into account from the beginning.

Another fundamental reason to play this game is the little animal that you have under your Nexus and that you can pamper, or annoy, during the game. Mine is currently a beautiful Rainbow Pore that loves everyone and loves everyone, without distinction.
